History

The Kahala Beach Estates subdivision was platted on July 26, 1993 by Bruce & Debbie Reinhart in the city of Galveston, Texas. The subdivisions consists of 20 lots, all of whom are beach front.

In 2006 land across FM3005 from the subdivision was placed into the public trust for reserve as wetlands by the Trust for Public Land in partnership with the Texas General Land Office.

As all houses in Kahala Beach Estates are elevated to guard against flooding, during Hurricane Ike in 2008, none of the houses took sea water into their main living areas.
